Miami is quickly becoming a veritable Mecca for new film directors and producers. Now writer/producer Vladimir Lescouflair, 48, stands poised for the premiere of his first feature film, “Disturbed.” After viewing the trailer and then chatting with Lescouflair, this writer was reminded of an Alfred Hitchcock project like “Psycho,” as it bears many of the qualities associated with that award-winning thriller. Lescouflair calls his film a psychological thriller that explores the adult manifestations of childhood trauma.”
The film is set in modern day South Florida, chosen by the producer because the tropical paradise offers the perfect metaphor for the characters in the story – although pretty and pleasant looking, beware of the dangers that lurk beneath the surface.”
Lescouflair has a B.S. in communications from FIU, has worked with the Miami-Dade County Public Schools and worked as a production assistant and editor for several television programs at NBC and ABC. He has been recognized for his work on Projects featuring Haitian youth and traces his roots to the historic island. He was born in Haiti but moved to Miami when he was six. He joined by director and co-producer Nelda Augustin, who brings a similarly impressive background including work in theatre dance and business management.
According to Lescouflair, the cast is mostly locally-based with a large percentage of Caribbean-born actors. Look out for Uriel Chery, Jennifer Alexandre, Onika Mapp, Taisha August, Paris Mackey and Mecca (Grimo) – the stars of the movie.

He also read A Call to Reason and the Declaration of Rebellion, and subsequently was inspired to join the Alliance to Restore the Republic. Impressing his recruiter, Frix was assigned to the MC80 Star Cruiser Independence, and was considered a favorite to join the elite Rogue Squadron before an accident at Gerrard V left him psychologically scarred and unfit for active service.
